Inclusive, trauma-informed therapy for every stage, every story, every self.

About Us

At Balanced Wellness Collective, we believe that healing begins in safety, connection, and belonging. Our team of therapists offers inclusive, trauma-informed care that honours the full complexity of being human — the joy and the pain, the strength and the struggle. We strive to create spaces where every story, every identity, and every nervous system feels seen, supported, and respected.

Our clinicians bring a range of specialties and lived experiences to their work, including perinatal and reproductive mental health, parenting support, child and youth therapy, neurodivergence-affirming practice, and care for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. Drawing from approaches such as EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), emotion-focused therapy, mindfulness, and somatic and relational frameworks, we tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs and pace.

Whether you’re preparing for birth, navigating loss, supporting a child through big emotions, exploring your identity, or simply seeking a place to reconnect with yourself, you’ll find compassionate, evidence-based care here. At Balanced Wellness Collective, healing is not about becoming someone new — it’s about remembering who you are beneath the noise, and finding your way back to yourself, supported and understood.

Meet Our Team

Jaimee Folkins

MEd, CCC, LCT, PMH-C

I am a certified perinatal therapist with a Master’s degree in Counselling Therapy and over 10 years of clinical experience supporting individuals and families through the many seasons of building and raising a family — from fertility and pregnancy to postpartum adjustment, loss, and parenting. I am also a certified menopause mental health practitioner, and have the training and experience to support people through this unique and sometimes challenging life stage. My approach is rooted in compassion and evidence-based care, integrating psychodynamic, trauma-informed, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) perspectives to help clients explore the deeper patterns that shape how they see themselves and relate to the world.

I have a special interest in the intersection of neurodivergence and parenting, and in helping families find rhythms that feel authentic and sustainable. As a mother of three, I bring both lived experience and clinical expertise to my work, meeting each client with warmth, respect, and curiosity. Whether you are preparing for birth, navigating loss, or finding your way through parenting, I offer a supportive space to heal, grow, and reconnect with yourself.

Cheyenne Currie

BSc, BSW, RSW

I am a 3rd generation Bajan (Barbados) Canadian, Queer genderfluid person living with chronic illness, and my lived experiences have deeply shaped my work as a therapist. Growing up in subsidized housing and caring for my younger siblings taught me resilience, empathy, and a strong sense of justice. These values ground my commitment to liberation and social equity for Black, Indigenous, and People of the Global Majority, as well as to creating spaces where sensitivity, intuition, and difference are celebrated.

My practice is rooted in an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approach that integrates Western and cross-cultural healing frameworks. I draw from Perinatal Mental Health, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and Somatic Healing, alongside Black Feminist Thought, Disability Justice, and Indigenous Ways of Knowing. I hold a Bachelor of Science from Western University, a Bachelor of Social Work from Dalhousie University, and am a registered social worker with the NBASW. Marin McLeod

BA, MACP, LCT-C

Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Marin, and I was born and raised in Fredericton. I feel deeply called to support children and youth in my community and to provide a safe, supportive space where they can explore who they are, feel seen and heard, and build confidence as they navigate life’s challenges. I work with young people experiencing worry, stress, anxiety, emotion regulation difficulties, self-esteem concerns, blended family dynamics, and more. I believe that connection, vulnerability, and self-discovery are at the heart of healing and empowerment.

My approach is humanistic, strength-based, and tailored to each child’s unique needs and personality. I draw from a blend of therapeutic modalities to create a meaningful and rewarding experience for every client and family I work with. I don’t take it lightly when a family invites me into their world—I show up with presence, heart, and an unwavering belief in my clients. If you’re looking for a therapist who leads with warmth, curiosity, and deep care, you’re in the right place.

Jamie McNeil

BSW/RSW, MCAP, LCT-C

I am a Registered Social Worker with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers and a Licensed Counselling Therapist (Candidate) with the College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Human Kinetics from St. Francis Xavier University, a Bachelor of Social Work from St. Thomas University, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. My practice is grounded in warmth, compassion, and safety, and I strive to meet each client with empathy, respect, and genuine care. I value the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for meaningful change and aim to create a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered.

I am passionate about supporting children, youth, and adults through a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, and trauma. My approach is integrative and person-centered, drawing from Humanistic, Cognitive-Behavioural (CBT), Narrative, Emotion-Focused, and Mindfulness-based approaches. Working from a trauma-informed, strengths-based perspective, I meet clients where they are and walk alongside them on their journey toward wellness, growth, and self-discovery.

My approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and the belief that healing is not about becoming someone new, but remembering who you are beneath the noise. With training in energy work and a deep sensitivity to the subtle — body language, tone, even silence — I aim to create moments of safety and attunement that allow real change to unfold. My practice is neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed, and human-first. I know what it’s like to live in a world that often misunderstands sensitivity, intuition, or intensity, and how healing it can be to finally feel seen.

Whether you’re neurodivergent yourself or raising a neurodivergent child, this is a space where your unique wiring isn’t pathologized but honored, explored, and supported. Our work may unfold through reflection or quiet presence, always with respect for your pace and process. Drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), emotion-focused therapy, inner child work, and relational life therapy, I aim to support your growth and reconnection with the self that has always been there — learning to trust yourself again, or maybe for the very first time.

Our Services

Individual Counselling

Individual counselling offers a compassionate space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences with a therapist who meets you where you are. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, loss, life transitions, or simply seeking deeper self-understanding, therapy can help you uncover patterns, build resilience, and reconnect with your authentic self. Our therapists draw from trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches to support meaningful change at your own pace — helping you move toward greater clarity, confidence, and emotional well-being.

Reproductive Mental Health Therapy

Reproductive life stages can bring significant emotional, physical, and identity changes. Our therapists provide compassionate, evidence-based support for individuals navigating transitions related to fertility, pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, parenting, and menopause.

Our perinatal mental health services support clients through the journey into parenthood — from fertility and pregnancy to postpartum adjustment, pregnancy or infant loss, and early parenting. These experiences can bring joy alongside anxiety, grief, and relationship or identity shifts.

We also offer support for individuals navigating perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause. Hormonal changes during this stage can affect mood, sleep, anxiety, and overall wellbeing. Our therapists help clients understand the connection between hormonal changes and mental health while offering practical strategies and support.

Child and Youth Therapy

Children and youth experience the world in ways that are creative, emotional, and deeply personal. Our therapists provide a safe and supportive space where young people can express themselves, build coping skills, and strengthen their sense of self. Using play-based, expressive, and evidence-informed approaches, we help children and teens navigate challenges such as anxiety, emotional regulation, self-esteem, peer relationships, and family transitions. Therapy focuses on connection, curiosity, and empowerment — supporting each young person in developing resilience and confidence as they grow.

Group Counselling

Group counselling offers a supportive and collaborative space to connect with others who share similar experiences. Guided by a skilled therapist, groups focus on understanding common challenges, developing coping skills, and finding strength in shared stories. Whether exploring themes of parenting, anxiety, loss, or identity, group therapy provides both insight and community — reminding you that you don’t have to navigate growth or healing alone.

Psychoeducational Presentations

Our team provides engaging, evidence-based presentations and workshops for workplaces, community organizations, and professionals. We cover topics such as mental health awareness, trauma-informed care, neurodiversity, perinatal well-being, and supporting emotional resilience. Each session is designed to be accessible, inclusive, and practical — fostering understanding, reducing stigma, and equipping participants with tools they can use every day.

Supervision and Consulting

We offer clinical supervision and consulting for therapists, social workers, and organizations seeking trauma-informed and inclusive guidance in their work. Our approach emphasizes reflection, authenticity, and growth — helping professionals strengthen clinical skills, deepen self-awareness, and build confidence in complex practice settings. We also offer a limited amount of practicum placements for counselling and/or social work students.
